Volunteering and internship in Africa
Volunteer Africa has been performing African volunteering and internship programs in Tanzania since 1996. We typically have 15-40 participants at our compound in Madale Village throughout the year. Additionally, we collaborate with over 1000 universities worldwide. Our participants are from all age groups.

Volunteer and Internship Africa programs

NGO Management
Help Volunteer Africa NGO manage community programs for 15-40 students from around the world, representing over 1000 universities with which we cooperate. You can attend multiple programs together with your fellow participants.

Environmental Advocacy
Volunteer Africa's Environmental Advocacy internship encourages students to engage in sustainable community work, raise awareness of environmental issues and climate change, and develop innovative solutions to address environmental concerns.

Women's Development
Volunteer Africa supports and develops initiatives by village women. The main activities are vocational training, including English, IT, entrepreneurship, women's rights, public health and related subjects—a unique experience to work to empower women in Africa.

Medical and Health
Volunteer Africa helps the operations of small community clinics, large hospitals and Public Health Programs. You greatly assist in empowering healthcare in Tanzania

Human Rights
The program focuses on protecting and advocating for the rights of children, women, and people with disabilities, covering topics such as child marriage, gender equality, and the right to education. Bring your initiatives to practice.

Climate Change
We work to evaluate and deliver solutions to Africa's climate change adaptation challenges. Advocate at the schools and communities and get the solutions to practice.

Disaster Management
African countries face several disaster risks due to climate change and industrial pollution risks. You help advocate and train local communities to recognise disaster risk and develop solutions.

Corporate Social Responsibility
Join to engage the corporate sector to protect and advocate for children's, women's, and disabled people's rights, covering social issues such as child marriage, gender equality, and the right to education.

Village Education
Join to empower educational programs in the village nurseries, primary and secondary schools, and run adult vocational training activities. In Tanzania, your assistance with education can make an instant difference.

Marketing and Management
The Marketing and Management program supports Art in Tanzania in its development and growth. You engage in daily marketing and management and encounter one of the fastest-developing economies in Africa.

Physiotherapy
We support village dispensaries and larger hospitals in providing physiotherapy care to the community. You would work alongside local professionals to provide much-needed assistance. You can also work with football as a sports physiotherapist.

Sustainable Tourism
Tourism is a vital component of Tanzania's national economy. It has the potential to generate significant revenue for local communities and accounts for over 10% of the nation's GDP. In addition, Art in Tanzania safaris and tours are essential fundraisers to empower our NGO community work.

Pharmacy
We support local villages and large pharmacies in the Dar es Salaam region in developing high-quality pharmaceutical care for their communities. In addition, you assist in developing daily pharmacy activities and bring modern Western medical skills.

Community Psychology
You help in community psychology tasks in the schools, women's groups, corporate sector, disabled children care centres, drug addiction and other charges. In addition, professional psychological care requires you to empower the care in impoverished societies.

Children Under School Age
Volunteer Africa empowers early education training in orphanages and nursery schools. We focus on low-income families to help their children access affordable, high-quality education. Join to enable children's rights to stay safe and flourish.

African Youth Football Academy
Volunteer Africa is working to develop youth football by assisting talent development at the village level and through Football Academy programs.

Film and Photography
Volunteer Africa's Media internship enables students to develop their photography or filmmaking skills in Tanzania. Help with our work in social media and film production.

Gerontology
Volunteer Africa is helping with the care of older people in village societies. The work focuses on social everyday assistance and public health issues—your participation is essential to support the program.

Eco-Construction
Learning to use the African traditional raw materials, such as bamboo, coral rocks, leaves, and to design African-style interior designs.

Anthropology Africa
Educating and advocating for the Tanzanian communities about cultural and heritage differences between the African and Western societies.

International Relations
Volunteer Africa International Relations Africa program focuses on advocacy work about multiple development issues. We want to open up the complexity of development work to the common Tanzanian people.

Social Media and WEB page development
Social Media content production and publishing. We focus on advocacy media content that also serves as NGO marketing tasks. WEB page development is our constant activity.

Tanzanian Arts
Assisting full movie groups, producing short movies and social media content, and working with fine art sectors. Thorough introduction to Tanzanian arts and artists.

Anthropology
Advocating the differences between African and Western cultures in terms of human behaviour, cultures, and societies in the past and present.

Nursing
Nursing placements are available in various dispensaries and hospitals. We tailor your tasks in pre-travel discussions.

Research and Thesis
You can conduct research and thesis work, and Volunteer Africa facilitates the daily plans.

Spring and Fall Term Internhips
Fall Term internship options are for the non-curricular students who do not have strict commitments to their studies but wish to learn to work with the African communities.
