The Serengeti Ngorongoro safari is part of Art in Tanzania’s sustainable travel programs. The task is to raise funds for the NGO community work, as we operate as a self-sustainable entity.
The Serengeti ecosystem is a geographical region in northern Tanzania, Africa. The protected area within the region includes approximately 30,000 km2 (of land, including the Serengeti National Park and several game reserves. The Serengeti hosts the world’s second-largest terrestrial mammal migration, which helps secure it as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa and one of the Ten Natural Travel Wonders of the world
The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a protected UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Western portion of the park abuts the Serengeti National Park, and the area comprising the two parks and Kenya’s Maasai Mara game reserve is home to the Great Migration, a massive annual migration of millions of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and other animals. The conservation area also contains Olduvai Gorge, one of the most important paleoanthropological sites in the world.
We visit the Ngorongoro Crater during our safari, a world-famous high-wildlife-intensity area.
Itinerary
Unforgettable Serengeti safari experience. We spent two and a half days in the Serengeti and half a day in the Ngorongoro Crater. Accommodation in the Serengeti was camping-based.
On the first day, you travel from Moshi, near Kilimanjaro, to Karatu, where you visit a Maasai village. You will then stay in Karatu town on the N’gorongoro rim.
On the second day, we drive to the Serengeti through the N’gorongoro area. We arrive at the Serengeti gate around midday. All morning, we enjoy wildlife at the N’gorongoro plains. The afternoon drive is in central Serengeti, where it is easier to find the big cats. We stay in Serengeti wildlife camping sites.
The third day is a full-day game drive in Serengeti, with accommodation in wildlife camping sites.
On the fourth day, we will drive back to the Ngorongoro area through the Serengeti. In the afternoon, we will descend to the Ngorongoro Crater. The wildlife density is high in the crater, and we will also find flamingos in the small lakes.
