Discover Our Community Development Partnerships and Success Stories
For nearly three decades, Art in Tanzania, together with Green Works Africa, have been actively involved in community development across Tanzania.
Our work is built on long-term partnerships with local institutions, international NGOs, and community leaders, focusing on sustainable, community-led impact.
Education Sector Partnerships
Education is at the core of our development efforts. We work with schools across Tanzania to improve access to quality education and create long-term learning opportunities.
Our education initiatives include:
- Teacher support and classroom assistance
- School renovation and infrastructure development
- Construction of new classrooms and learning spaces
- Adult education and vocational training programs
- Introduction of new educational initiatives
In Karatu, within Maasai communities, we have supported the development of a school for Maasai children, improving access to education in underserved rural areas.
Today, our partner network includes more than 30 schools, reaching over 60,000 students across different regions of Tanzania.
Environmental Sector Partnerships
Environmental sustainability is an important part of our mission. Our work focuses on:
- Community environmental awareness programs
- Sustainable resource management
- Waste reduction and recycling initiatives
- Climate change education and local adaptation projects
- Support for community-led conservation efforts
We aim to strengthen local capacity to protect natural resources while improving long-term environmental resilience.
Social & Human Rights Programs
We are actively engaged in social development and human rights initiatives, working alongside local partners to address key societal challenges. Focus areas include:
- Child protection and prevention of child marriage
- Human rights education and advocacy
- Gender equality initiatives
- Community awareness programs
- Anti-corruption awareness and transparency initiatives
These programs are designed to empower communities through education, dialogue, and long-term structural change.
Research & Development Work
In addition to hands-on community programs, we are involved in ongoing research initiatives that support evidence-based development work across sectors.
International Grant & Partnership Projects
Over the years, we have implemented several funded initiatives in collaboration with international partners, including:
- US Ambassador’s Special Grant Program (2014): Renovation of a primary school
- Finnish Embassy Grants (2013): Cultural and educational exchange programs, including the “Sanaa Sana to the World” project and performances in Finland
Building Long-Term Impact Together
Through decades of consistent collaboration, our goal has remained the same: to support communities in becoming more self-sufficient, resilient, and empowered through education, sustainability, and social development.
