Supporting orphanages and nursery schools

We work to ensure that every parentless child has a home in the orphanages, preschools, and nursery schools.
Our volunteers and interns are implementing the tasks supported by the donations.
The Tanzanian Government cannot financially support the operation of orphanages, so private citizens and organisations manage them.
A typical orphanage has around 50 children of different ages. Their development and care depend on donations and the help of private individuals. Art in Tanzania has assisted the orphan children programs for more than 20 years. Our volunteers and interns play a crucial role in the program’s management.
Private citizens manage nurseries or preschools, and the Tanzanian Government cannot meet the needs of preschools. At the village level, many orphans or children from low-income families cannot afford to attend nursery school activities.
Art in Tanzania supports nursery schools, and, most importantly, we work to ensure that all children have access to quality preschool education.
Our volunteers and interns also assist in activities at a care centre for children under school age who have disabilities.
