Pharmacy Volunteering and Internship in Tanzania
Art in Tanzania’s Pharmacy Africa placement enables students to apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired at university to develop economic conditions, gain hands-on practical experience, and contribute to genuine social improvement. We currently support local village pharmacies and larger pharmacies in the Dar es Salaam region to provide high-quality pharmaceutical care to the community. Interns will work under the direct supervision and control of a local pharmacist, performing tasks such as removing drugs from stock, counting, pouring, or mixing pharmaceuticals, placing products into containers, affixing labels, and packaging and repackaging.
Tanzanian pharmacies fall short of Western standards. Specifically, small village pharmacies need training and advocacy to improve their quality. Bring your education and knowledge to African pharmacy operations and provide much-needed assistance to the community in creating medical services. Contact us for more information or to apply for the program.
Large pharmacies
Work with pharmacology professionals, apply your knowledge and skills to practical situations, and engage with patients to provide advice and support. Examples include removing drugs from stock, counting, pouring, or mixing pharmaceuticals, placing products into containers, affixing labels, and packaging and repackaging.
Tanzanian pharmacies may lack some modern medicines so that you may encounter differences from those in your home country.
Village pharmacies
Work closely with small community pharmacies to deliver vital medical information and expertise, assist patients, train staff, advocate on key topics, and engage in hands-on, practical experience.
Understanding how smaller Tanzanian pharmacies operate is advisable, as this will help you better comprehend how poverty affects the standard of pharmacies.
Public Health Medication Info
You are advocating proper medical procedures in the communities for diseases such as diabetes, HIV, AIDS, Malaria, Pneumonia, and Diarrhoea. The main target groups are schools, women’s groups, and corporations.
You focus on advocating for medication needed in different situations of illness. Unfortunately, the knowledge of ordinary people is relatively limited.
