Selous Game Reserve safari is a sustainable art travel program in Tanzania. The task is to raise funds for the NGO community work as we operate as a self-sustainable entity.

The Selous Game Reserve is a protected area in southern Tanzania. It covers an area of 50,000 km2 (19,000 sq mi) and has additional buffer zones. In 1982, it was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its wildlife diversity and undisturbed nature. Some of the diverse wildlife of the miombo include the African bush elephant, south-central black rhinoceros, hippopotamus, lion, African wild dog, African buffalo, Masai giraffe, Plains zebra, and Nile crocodile.

Itinerary

As the largest game reserve in the world, yet scarce with tourists, Selous Game Reserve is home to many animals, including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhinos. In addition, the thick bush inhabits many primates, including the white colobus monkeys and bush babies—a popular volunteer safari.

Day 1: Dar es Salaam / Selous (-/L/D)
After having breakfast, we depart at about 9 AM to make the approximately 6-hour journey to Selous.
We arrive at a tented camp along the Rufiji River for a nice dinner and 2-nights’ accommodation.
You can add a 2-hour Rufiji River boating safari for $70 per person in the afternoon.

Day 2: Selous (B/L/D)
After breakfast, we depart for a full-day game drive in Selous, around the lakes and hot volcanic springs. A boxed lunch is included.
We return for dinner at the Camp.

Day 3: Selous / Dar es Salaam (B/L/-)
After breakfast, we depart for a game ride in Selous that will include a boxed lunch.
We depart Selous to Dar around PM 3. We stop in Kapiti town for lunch.
