Ruaha National Park safari is part of the Art in Tanzania sustainable travel programs. The task is to raise funds for NGO community work. As a result, it allows us to operate as a self-sustainable entity.

The dry seasons shrink the river, which draws wildlife in for drinking. It becomes an excellent game viewing area. Large gatherings of elephants, giraffes, buffalo, kudu, and impalas can often be seen in herds around the riverbeds. The Mdonya woodlands are great for seeing hartebeest, sable, and roan antelope. The Mbage-Mwagusi circuit provides an excellent chance to see elephants. 

Compared to elsewhere in Tanzania, Ruaha has the most extensive collection of elephants. Similarly, because of its large population, safari-goers are almost guaranteed to see Great Kudu.

The park’s predators include lions, leopards, cheetahs, spotted hyenas, and wild dogs. It serves as one of Tanzania’s Lion Conservation Units. In addition, the park’s popular species include giraffes, buffalo, hippopotamus, zebra, warthog, and sable antelope.

Ruaha is also a bird lover’s paradise, with over 570 bird species in the park. Hornbills, raptors, bee-eaters, rollers, and many other species make bird-watching popular in the park. In addition, Ruaha is also home to the rare Eleonora’s Falcon during December and January.

Ruaha National Park (5 Days/4 Nights)

Ruaha National Park, situated around the Great Ruaha River, is one of Tanzania’s most beautiful national parks. The animals are completely wild, and the scenery is unforgettable. The journey from Dar es Salaam to Ruaha is also very scenic as you travel through Morogoro, Mikumi National Park, and the mountainous regions of Southern Tanzania.

Day 1: Dar es Salaam / Iringa (-/L/D)

After breakfast, we depart for an 8-hour journey to Iringa. Our lunch stop is in Mikumi Town.

We will have dinner and one night of accommodation in Iringa.

Day 2: Iringa / Ruaha (B/L/D)

After breakfast, we depart for the final 120 km drive from Iringa to Ruaha National Park and pass through the Hehe tribal, rural villages. After about 2 hours drive, adding on possible animal viewing stops, we pass by and drop extra luggage at our lodge.

We move on for a half-day game drive before returning to the lodge for dinner.

Day 3: Ruaha (B/L/D)

After breakfast, we depart for an entire game drive with a boxed lunch. By the time we return for dinner at the lodge.

Day 4: Iringa / Ruaha (B/L/D)

After breakfast, we depart for a morning game ride, including a boxed lunch. Finally, we pass back to Iringa town near PM 2. At Iringa, we stay overnight, dinner included.

Day 5: Iringa / Dar es Salaam (B/L/-)

After breakfast at the hotel, we drive back to Dar es Salaam. Our Lunch stop is in Mikumi Town.

Safari Highlights:

You will see many animals, generally speaking, missing the rhino. Animals: Elephants, giraffes, impalas, kudu, zebras, lions, more than 400 bird species, more than 1,000 flowering plants, and seasonally changing scenery.
