Social Studies Volunteering and Internship Placements

Art in Tanzania has 15-40 participants who assist in community work throughout the year. Participants come from different parts of the world. In addition, we work with over 400 universities offering placements for their students to learn to work in programs in Africa.

Our Social Sector volunteers and interns can focus on supporting several tasks such as orphanage development, Nursery Schools, Children Under School Age Programs, Primary and Secondary School Education, Vocational Training, Women’s Empowerment Programs, Gerontology, and Health, among others. We can tailor a placement that matches your studies, experience, and preferences.

You need to be resourceful and have a problem-solving attitude. As an NGO management intern, you will also play an active role in all projects undertaken by supporting other participants with any queries they may face, coordinating different departments to achieve shared goals, and holding team meetings to brainstorm ideas. Orphanages and Nursery Schools

Tanzanian government cannot support orphanages and preschool programs. Therefore, assistance from volunteers and interns is crucial to empowering their operations. Art in Tanzania focuses on supporting low-income families in getting their children into pre-education. The volunteers work with essential facilitation, and an additional helping hand for the daily activities is much appreciated. The popular program is to work with a care centre for school-age children with disabilities.

Our social sector programs include primary and secondary schools, women’s groups, older adults’ programs, public health initiatives, and community psychology tasks. You can select a specific program, but combine one or more functions with your placement.
